چکیده

An outcome is ambiguous if it is an incomplete description of the probability distribution over consequences. An incomplete description is identified with the set of probabilities that satisfy the incomplete description. A choice problem is ambiguous if the decision maker is choosing between incompletely described outcomes, that is, between sets of probabilities. This paper develops the theory of ambiguous choice problems as a continuous, linear extension of expected utility preferences from probabilities to sets of probabilities. Roughly, risk refers to situations where the likelihood of relevant events can be represented by a probability measure, while ambiguity refers to situations where there is insufficient information available for the decision maker to assign probabilities to events. Self-Regulation, Goal Orientation, Tolerance of Ambiguity and Autonomy as Predictors of Iranian EFL learners’ Second Language Achievement: A Structural Equation Modeling Approach

The identification of the cognitive, affective, social and even physiological factors affecting second or foreign language learning routes and rate has for long been a challenging aspiration for second language researchers. However, a recent preoccupation of the researchers in this area has been the study of the combinatorial impacts of such factors on second or foreign language learning proces...

Elicitation Strategies for Web Application Using Activity Theory

Requirements engineering (RE) is often seen as an essential facet in software development. It is a vital process before each project starts. In the context of systems engineering, an understanding and application of systems theory and practice is also relevant to RE. The contexts in which RE takes place habitually involve human activities. Therefore, RE needs to be sensitive to how people perce...
